NWA-KS
"Capital Carnage II"

Saturday, November 22nd - Topeka, KS

"Capital Carnage II" started with the entire NWA-KS locker room present for ten tolls of the ringbell to commemorate the passing of Janice Estes, wife of Kansas promotor Steve Estes.

The show then featured acting NWA Representative, "Chatterbox" Chad Phillips reading the folowing statement from the NWA-KS Board of Directors:
From: NWA Kansas Board of Directors

Due to the fact that NWA Kansas Heavyweight champion, "Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry has missed two consecutive title defenses and compounded by the fact the title has not been defended in the allotted 30 day time period, the NWA Kansas Board of Directors has no choice other than to strip Michael Barry of his championship and render the NWA Kansas championship vacant.

At this time I would like to ask the #1 contender for that title to join me in the ring, so that he may hear the next part of this statement, which pertains to him. Ladies and gentlemen, the man who was to compete against Michael Barry for the NWA Kansas Heavyweight title tonight: Griz

The NWA Kansas Board of Directors realizes that Griz,  the #1 contender for the KS Heavyweight title, has been unfairly cheated of his scheduled title shot tonight; however the NWA-KS Board of Directors cannot see fit to award a prestigious NWA State Heavyweight Championship to a competitor based on a champion's forfeiture of his title.

Therefore, stipulations have been made so that tonight, the vacated NWA Kansas Heavyweight Championship will be decided. Tonight's event will now feature a Gauntlet for the Gold match and a new NWA Kansas Heavyweight champion will be crowned here in Topeka. The competitors in that Gaunlet for the Gold match will include winners of tonight's matches.

Before the final part of this statement is read, the NWA-KS Board of Directors would request one more athlete to join me in the ring; another man who the Board of Directors feel was unfairly cheated out of a deserved NWA title match tonight.  Ladies & gentlemen please help me welcome to the ring one half of the Midwest Express, "Mr. Dynamic" Mark Sterling.

After an extensive investigation, led by myself, "Chatterbox" Chad Phillips, along with other members of the NWA Kansas Board of Directors, we have come to the conclusion that the other half of the Midwest Express, "The Specialist" Mason Hunter, is unable to appear tonight due to injuries caused at the hands of Strength In Numbers, in an attempt to eliminate the Midwest Express from competing in the tournament to fill the vacant NWA Midwest Tag Team titles.

Therefore three different courses of action will be taken to rectify this situation. First, Strength In Numbers, as a whole, is to be fined $1500, and each individual member of the group will be fined an additional $250 each, for their roles in the assault. Second, in the interest of fairness, "Mr. Dynamic" Mark Sterling, will be offered a choice as to which title he will compete for at "Capital Carnage II".

Mr. Sterling may decide to maintain his team's position in the semi-final round of the NWA Midwest Tag Team title tournament, however if he chooses to do so, will not be permitted to name a replacement partner, and must compete alone in the tournament. If Mr. Sterling chooses not to remain in the tag team title tournament, our third and final course of action is to be be implemented. "Mr. Dynamic" Mark Sterling will be allowed a place in the Gauntlet for the Gold match to crown a new NWA Kansas Heavyweight champion. This will cause a predetermined "wild card" team to replace the Midwest Express in the tournament , and the Midwest Express to be named as #1 contenders to the NWA Midwest Tag Team titles after the conclusion of the tournament to fill the vacant titles.

This statement would serve to set the tone for the evening as only the winners of each match were allowed entry into the Gauntelt for the Gold match to crown a new NWA-KS Champion.  For full match results from NWA-KS "Capital Carnage II" visit the Results page.

NWA-KS
"Capital Carnage"

Saturday, October 25th - Topeka, KS

"Capital Carnage" was a night  that will surely set the stage for things to come for a very long time in NWA Kansas.  The night kicked off with the opening round of a tournament to fill the vacant NWA Midwest Tag Team Title belts.
Making their presence known by entering three teams into the tournament, Tommy Snow, and his Strength In Numbers group, would come after those titles in full force.  The SIN combination of Jayden Draigo & The Dekin was the first team to advance, scoring a win over Brandon Steele and Enigma.  With opposing teams chosen at random, Snow's other two teams found themselves facing each other in the first round as The Bigg Dogg and JC Thunder (with his manager Dr. Spookshow who had formed an uneasy alliance with Snow in order to get his man into the tournament) defeated IPWM Tag Team Champions Devan Scott & Superstar Rich Allen (accompanied by Snow).  Tensions between Scott & Allen were apparent from the start, and escalated during the match when Allen refused to tag in, going so far as to find himself a seat at ringside.  After the match Snow called to the ring all of the members of SIN, who attacked Devan Scott and left him laying in the ring broken and battered.
There was no lack of action throughout the tournament as Simply The Best (Babyface and Hype Gotti) advanced to the next round after a hard fought battle with "Showtime" Darrien Sanders and Abu Colossus and The Midwest Express (Mark Sterling and Mason Hunter) bested the Knox Brothers (Ryan and Jake) to solidify their position in the next round.
With his tag team partner T-Bone sidelined with an injury, Kid USA was victorious in his match, defeating "The Legacy" Jake Holmes.  In a match to determine the #1 Contender for the NWA Kansas Heavyweight championship, "Kingpin" Brian Ash would go on to defeat Krow (despite interference and a wicked belt-shot to the head which cut him wide open at the hands of NWA Central States champion, Derek Stone) Stone was at ringside hosting the event with "Chatterbox" Chad Phillips, and also to witness the main event of the evening as Griz defeated Tiger mask, to become the #1 Contender for his very own NWA Central States title.
The first night of "Capital Carnage", brought things to a boil in NWA Kansas, and now the focus shifts to night 2 and the final rounds of the tag team title tournament on November 15th.  Watch for more information as it becomes available.

The April 19, 2003, debut show for NWA Kansas at the Oakland Community Center in Topeka, KS was a night filled with excitement and surprises.  A special ceremony was held to present the newly crowned NWA Central States champion Derek Stone who battled Krow to a no contest.  NWA-KS Champion "Mr. Saturday Night" Michael Barry successfully defended the title against Griz who had earlier in the evening beaten "Impressive" Anthony Wayne in a match to determine the #1 contender.  Kid USA was victorious in a 16 man Battle Royal and then demanded the reinstatement of the NWA Jr. Heavyweight title.  Jonah from WWE/MTV Tough Enough 3 served as a surprise guest, signing autographs and taking pictures with the fans.  All this and more as NWA-KS presented it's inagural event.
